I can’t speak for the artist, but for me this work doesn’t appear to be intended as a celebration of Laing’s work or an accepting of his theories’ validity.

For me this album is more about the stuff I mention above – the cold false paternalism of the 1900s lunatic asylum, the crazy ideas about who should be locked up in them, and the craziness of society itself – all seen through a time-distortion prism.

Not seen a Loach film since the Cantona one. It was pretty good.
